Welcome to our Enlightening quarterly series (EQS) #5. This quarter’s theme is “Securing the Pipeline: Threat Modeling in Modern CI/CD,” focusing on Threat Modeling 

In this three-month Enlightening Quarterly Series (EQS), we explore the critical role of threat modeling in enhancing security across the Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline. Each month, we dive deeper into the concepts and frameworks, starting with the fundamentals of threat modeling and its importance in modern cybersecurity. The series will also cover hands-on demonstrations of various threat modeling methodologies, including STRIDE, DREAD, and PASTA, while addressing real-world use cases in cloud and application security.

Balachandar Natarajan ( Bala) is an empathetic yet maverick leader, combining strategic vision with a results-driven approach and a remarkable ability to identify and nurture talent. A strong advocate of a “Digital Data First @cloud” mindset, he focuses on leveraging the right data to make impactful decisions.

With over 20 years of experience in IT, including 15+ years at Ford, he currently serves as the Global Engineering Platform Manager for Ford’s e-Commerce Sales. His expertise spans DevSecOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Performance Engineering, and Release Management. In addition, he has extensive experience managing hyper-scale cloud ERP transformations, global product development, large-scale program delivery, and AI/ML-enabled solutions. In previous roles, he led teams of over 100 professionals across 10+ HR product portfolios, driving innovation across diverse technologies.

As a Board Director at ISACA Chennai Chapter since 2017, he is deeply passionate about advancing cybersecurity awareness and professional growth. A sought-after conference speaker and trainer, he regularly shares insights on technology, leadership, and cybersecurity with global audiences.
