Brief Description

To enhance the cybersecurity posture of its regulated entities (REs) and ensure the integrity and stability of India's financial markets, SEBI designed the Cyber Security and Cyber Resilience Framework (CSCRF). It categorizes REs based on their scale and mandates tailored requirements for governance, risk identification, protection, detection, response, and recovery. The framework introduces a Cyber Capability Index (CCI) for maturity assessment, emphasizes third-party risk management, and requires robust incident response mechanisms. Compliance deadlines are set for early 2025, reinforcing global best practices in cybersecurity and investor confidence.

R Vittal Raj is a risk assurance and cybersecurity controls professional and trainer with over 25 years of experience working with clients in a wide range of industry verticals on IT Governance, Cyber Security, Privacy, IT Assurance, Enterprise Risk Management, and Risk Based Internal audits.
Vittal is an FCA, CISA, CIA, CISSP, CGEIT, CISM, CRISC and CFE.
Vittal is a member of the RBI’s Standing Committee for Cybersecurity and IT Examination and a member of the IRDA Information Security Group. Vittal served for two terms as the International Vice President and Director on the International Board of ISACA, IL, USA, and was awarded the President’s award and Certificate of appreciation for outstanding contributions during his term as director. Vittal has also served on research and technical committees of ICAI-India, IIA Florida, ISACA International, and ICWAI and is a GC member of MCCI.
